Ray Scarborough G3UCY drew many cartoons for inclusion in LENS as well as a few for the Newsletter of the VHF/UHF Group that was organised in Leicester in the 1970s.

"Real dyed-in-the-wool c.w. man, old Fred" This picture also appeared in the Fist magazine, Keynote. For the preservation of morse code. The Dots and dashes above the tent is the letter 'z'. In the final publication, ZZzzzz were substituted for the morse. We wonder who Fred is and if he really snores in morse. |

The Leicestershire Repeater Group is a club formed to run and maintain beacons, repeaters and kindred devices for the benefit of licensed radio amateurs.
We welcome members and donations to help towards the considerable running costs of the beacons and repeaters which cost over £1000 per year to run just in electricity and internet charges. All of the maintenance and repairs are carried out by our committee members and other volunteers without cost to the Group. In many cases new items of equipment are provided at members own expense by additional donations.
For instance a Yaesu Fusion Repeater (Analogue/Digital FM) was recently installed and donations towards the cost of approximately £1000 will be gratefully received.
The present membership subscription is £30 per annum with an optional donation of £5 towards ever increasing running costs. Concessionary membership is also available at a cost of £25 per annum.
